Pathways for Lifestyle Medicine Certification for Physicians

Experiential

for certified physicians

Must be certified by a medical specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) for U.S.-based physicians.
Canadian physicians must be certified and registered to practice.
Primary board certification and two years of practice is required before registering for an ABLM exam.

Educational

for residents

Lifestyle Medicine Residency Curriculum must be completed through a residency site. Visit lifestylemedicine.org/residency-curriculum for a current list of residency sites.
Certification will only be issued after successfully passing a primary board exam, though the ABLM exam can be taken after your residency.
